KAMPALA– The Executive Director of the Private Sector Foundation Uganda PSFU Gideon Badagawa has passed on.
Badagawa, 54, is said to have breathed his last on Monday morning at Mulago national referral hospital where he had been admitted for days battling Covid-19.
“The Board, Management and Staff of the Private Sector Foundation of Uganda (PSFU), with deep sorrow regret to announce the untimely death of their executive director, Mr Gideon Badagawa, who passed away this morning Monday June 21st, 2021, in Mulago Hospital,” Dr Elly Karuhanga, PSFU board chairman said in a statement issued Monday morning.
Mr Karuhanga further revealed that Badagawa’s wife, Susan Birungi Badagawa has also been battling for her life alongside her husband in hospital and only last week lost her father to Covid 19.
Badagawa has been the Executive Director of Private Sector Foundation Uganda (PSFU) for the last 10 years.
He previously worked with Uganda Manufacturers Association as Executive Director for 2 years.
He was also a member of the Board of National Environment Management Authority (NEMA), Board of Uganda Energy Credit Capitalization Company Limited, Board of Uganda National Planning Authority (NPA), Board of Uganda Warehouse Receipts Authority (UWRA), and Board of the Economic Policy Research Centre (EPRC).
Badagawa was born in a little village called Muyiira in Nambale Sub -County, Iganga District, to Mr and Ms Isabirye Badagawa.
He went to school at Busoga College Mwiri, Makerere College School and later joined Makerere University in 1988 for his first degree in Statistics.
