The Ministry of Health has on Thursday confirmed 158 new COVID-19 cases in Uganda bringing the cumulative total number of confirmed infections in the country to 8,287.
āResults from COVID-19 tests done on 30th September 2020; 158 new COVID-19 cases confirmed. The cumulative confirmed cases of Ugandans are now 8,287,ā the Health Ministry announced.
The new cases include 125 contacts and alerts and 33 returnees.
These are; 76 from Kampala, 4 from Kabalore, 4 from Mbarara, 4 from Wakiso, 3 from Butambala, 3 from Kitgum, 3 from Mbale, 3 from Nabilatuk, 2 from Bududa, 2 from Dokolo, 3 from Kisoro, 2 from Kalaki, 2 from Mityana, 1 from Bunyangabu, 1 from Gomba, 1 from Hoima, 1 from Iganga, 1 from Kaberamaido, 1 from Kasese, 1 from Kwania, 1 from Kyotera, 1 from Lira, 1 from Mpigi, 1 from Napak, 1 from Ntungamo, 1 from Rubanda and 1 from Soroti.
Of the 33 returnees who tested positive for COVID-19, 18 were from Oman, 10 from Jordan and 5 from Afghanistan.
Currently, Uganda has a cumulative total of 8,287 COVID-19 confirmed cases, 4,430 recoveries and 75 fatalities.
