The new type B ambulance
Although the COVID-19 pandemic remains the principal focus as pertains healthcare in the country as of now, the Ministry of Health continues to intervene in various health sectors to ensure the smooth continuity of health service delivery and well being of the people.
Through its Permanent Secretary Dr. Diana Atwine, the Ministry of Health has procured a fully equipped type B ambulance for Bukomansimbi district.
The ambulance was procured with support from the Korea Foundation for International Healthcare (KOFIH).
Dr Atwine said that the ambulance will be stationed at Butenga Health Centre IV to respond to medical emergencies from the community and the greater Masaka region.

It also comprises of a storage cupboard for an oxygen cylinder, drawers, an air conditioning unit, fold up sit-on partition wall among others.
On May 20, 2020, the acting country representative of KOFIH, Catherine Yu donated assortments of medical items worth Shs 390 million on behalf of the foundation towards Uganda’s Covid-19 response.
