Dancehall singer Cresent Baguma, popularly known as Beenie Gunter has quit Talent Africa.
The singer who was signed onto the record label in 2018, however denies claims that they had a very bitter split with Ally Alibhai.
“It is true I left but it is not a bitter fall out. It was a peaceful movement and what happens is growth. Gun Talk has opened up a new office and we have a lot to do,” he told the Kampala Sun.
Beenie Gunter reveals that Alibhai remains his booking agent so it is business as usual. The “olina work” singer has hired an American content creator and business developer, Max Noir to take over the management of the Guntalk Empire.
The singer is presently concentrating on his 21-track album whose release date is yet to be communicated. He however gives Talent Africa props for his growth since 2018, albeit with the lock-down confusion.
While under Alibhai’s Talent Africa, he released his debut album “No fear”. It featured various artistes both international and local. These include; Nigeria’s Skales, Bigtril, A Pass and Lydia Jazmine among others.
The “Pon Mi” star also did a collaboration with Kranium, one of Jamaica’s finest artistes.
Today, he is credited for songs such as Pon Mi, Olina Work, International Baby, Watto, Tubayo, Kill A Man, and many others.
