RUBANDA– The Police in Rubanda District are investigating circumstances surrounding the death of a 30 years old man identified as Biryomumisho Godfrey a barber and resident of Busenze cell, Kigeyo Ward in Rubanda Town Council.
Kigezi Regional Police Spokesman Elly Maate told journalists today morning that Kanyesigye Rodgers was crossing a swamp, going to his home last evening when he found a battery suspected to belong to the deceased in Kantora village.
He then called one Alex a villagemate of the deceased asking if the had reached home and Alex called the deceased’s wife Ninsiima Catherine who said her husband had not yet reached home.
It’s at this time the wife informed the area LC 1 chairman Charles Kitabulaza who together with other residents went and met Kanyesigye who led them where they found the battery and that’s when they saw the body of the deceased in a trench of the swamp.
Police was accordingly informed, scene was visited by Deputy CID Aine Bernice and team, body of the deceased found with several deep cuts on the face, hands, legs and chest, was taken to Kabale Regional Referral Hospital and postmortem examination was done.
Maate said that no arrests made yet and inquiries are still going on and the case of murder was registered at Rubanda Central Police Station under reference number CRB 188/2022 to help in investigations.
