DP Bloc MPs finally join NUP
In a statement published an hour back on his Facebook page, Hon. Mabikke cites irregularities in the NUP committee as one of the attributes to his defection. “Amidst everything, I regret leaving DP my mother party to SDP and the new party NUP,” Mabikke opens up in his statement.
“However, I’ve later discovered that DP is more democratic than any other political party in Uganda as it stands for truth and justice. I will therefore stand on DP ticket for Makindye East constituency come 2021-2026,” he reveals.
Sources however say Mabikke is just worried that he is likely to lose the party flag to the youthful NUP luminary, Nyeko Derrick who has deeply entrenched Makindye East with his commendable ground work.
Mabikke, a member of the DP Bloc led by Rubaga South MP aspirant, Walter Lubega Mukaaku are said to be fronting a parallel force with Joseph Mayanja alias Dr. Chameleone. Just this very week after his press conference where he convened his own force, Dr Chameleone was seen traversing through the major towns of Western Uganda despite being a Lord Mayor aspirant in the capital, Kampala. This left several analysts anticipating doom and a divergence within the NUP. The entire Bloc is said to be seeking vengeance against the original People Power front led by Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu following the eventual sacking of their strategist, Mukaaku.
