The National Unity Platform [NUP] has unveiled Candidates who will contest in various positions in Northern Uganda.
Dr. Lina Zedriga, the NUP vice president for Northern Uganda revealed today that the candidates had been vetted by the Electoral Commission from NUP.
‘’We have successfully concluded the vetting of Candidates for all elective levels with very minimal incidents if at all, congratulations. Today we carry out an inaugural unveiling of some of the Official NUP flag bearers in Northern Uganda which will be followed by series of regional unveils for all levels,’’ said Dr. Zedriga.
Dr. Zedriga who was addressing Journalists from the NUP offices in Gulu City added that they have also mainstreamed their communication channels and they have brought official lines where fundraising, inquiries about the Party activities in Northern Uganda will be addressed.
‘’ We welcome your generous and full confidence call to action as well as demand for accountability. Kindly endeavour to make all official contributions for Northern Uganda in these lines,’’ she said.
According to Mr. Oyeki Gerald, the NUP Electoral commission secretary in Northern Uganda, there are about 280 people who have shown interest in standing under their ticket in Acholi, Lango and West Nile sub-region and that more people are still showing interest in standing under NUP in the North.
Mr. Charles Ocora, an Aspirants in Aruu County in Pader district said he will use his business background to create more opportunities for the Youths in Pader district.
Mr. Ocora also faulted the imcumbent Member of Parliament for failing to lobby for services and opportunities for the people of Aruu saying that he plans to lobby and advocate for a better service delivery for the people of Aruu when he is elected under the NUP ticket to Parliament.
