The Law Development Centre @LDC_Uganda as held a graduation of at least 50 students at its newest campus in Lira City.

In a ceremony held at its campus in Lira on 16th June 2022, 50 students received their certificate in Administrative Law.
These will be in addition to the 110 who passed outrightly in their first setting accordingly to the recently released provisional results released by the board of Examiners out of this 292 that sat the final results which are just pending the approval of the recently appointed management committee by the attorney general that is yet to fix a graduation date.
The Assistant Director of Law Development Centre, Lira Regional campus Mr. Mulalira Faisal Umar presided over the function as a representative of the Director Mr. Frank Nigel Othembi.
He emphasized to the new graduates that building character, a sense of respecting others, and is a way to learn how to navigate the new environment and assignments that will be assigned to them by virtue of this training.
“They must commit themselves to a standard of excellence in their workspace as disciples of LDC to inspire others but also be great brand ambassadors,” Mulalira said
“Adopt an innovative problem-solving techniques as you pace set New trends on addressing Administrative issues that are raising in your workspace guided by the law for proper decision-making processes”, Mulalira added.
Speaking to the graduates, Everest Turyahikayo, the LDC academic registrar, said the institution has registered a good overall performance, as a starting point at the new campus “The overall pass rate at the bar course had given great hope as a new campus,” Turyahikayo said.
He attributed the performance to infrastructural reforms at LDC that came with new campuses at Lira and Mbarara respectively and wished the graduates a great career.

BEST STUDENTS
At the ceremony, the three best-performing students were awarded presents like administrative law Books, a gown, and certificates of excellence.
The graduands were drawn from various institutions and drawn from diverse backgrounds in civil/ public, local government, and private sector service.
They thanked LDC for opening up regional campuses that has enabled them to get training from a reputable and accredited training institution.
They requested LDC to roll out the diploma in human rights for the weekend program to help them acquire the necessary skills and technical competencies to advise on human rights issues arising in great northern Uganda during the post-war recovery process.
In other speeches by students, they appealed to LDC for more training opportunities for more officers in civil service across the board to enable them to improve on their administrative functions.
The function which was the first of its kind saw ongoing bar course training students undertake moot sessions while donned in professional wear as a means of training that was presided over by seasoned Litigators and trainers who later took photographs with the mooting counsel for the week.
Meanwhile, the 49th graduation of the Bar students is underway after the Attorney General instituted a management committee that is mandated to approve the recently released provisional results.
