In a YouTube interview, the musician shared that her mother never wanted her to leave home, a situation that intensified after she completed high school.Gloria explained that she had envisioned moving out to attend university and live on her own, but her mother wouldn’t allow it.Someone might not understand where I’m coming from, but as the firstborn child and a celebrity, the amount of strictness was too much. She noted that her mother’s protectiveness came from a desire to shield her from the negative influence of tabloids and public scrutiny. However, the overprotectiveness left Gloria feeling stifled.I kept on singing about my need for freedom, but she dictated where I was supposed to live, where I should go, and said I couldn’t live in a hostel, among other things. But at that point, I didn’t care about all that—I just wanted to leave home. Despite her determination to live independently, Baby Gloria has since returned to her parents’ home. She revealed that her decision was intentional, as she wanted to spend more time with her family before stepping into the next chapter of her life.I came back home to give them at least one year with me before I get married.
