Muyenga-Kampala, Uganda: Clarke International University’s (CIU) latest initiative is set to revolutionize the way alumni contributions are recognized, celebrated, and harnessed for the greater good.
The Alumni Gala Awards Dinner 2024 (#AGAD), launched on Friday at CIU’s Main Campus in Muyenga, Kampala, marks a significant milestone in the university’s commitment to empowering its graduates to drive positive change.
According to Sean Clarke, CEO Education Clarke Group, CIU’s mission is to produce leaders, innovators, and change-makers who transform their communities, regions, and the world at large.
The statistics are impressive: since its inception, CIU has graduated 3,500 students, with an enviable 93% employment rate and a quarter of Uganda’s graduate nurses among its alumni. This diverse group of change-makers hails from 15 countries, underscoring CIU’s global footprint.
Evelyn Ayot, Patron of the Alumni Association, emphasized the importance of sustaining alumni associations, urging members to participate in activities that unite and economically empower them.
Sylvia Achebet, Chairperson of the Alumni Association, outlined the five award categories – leadership, innovation, transformation, entrepreneurship, and commitment to promoting CIU – designed to recognize exceptional alumni. The nomination process, facilitated through online forms on official alumni platforms, ensures transparency, thanks to a vetting committee. Achebet encouraged alumni to actively nominate outstanding individuals.
CIU’s #AGAD serves as a powerful platform to reunite alumni, foster collaboration, and inspire a new generation of leaders. By celebrating the achievements of its graduates, CIU reinforces its dedication to nurturing talent and transforming lives. The event’s impact extends beyond the university, contributing to Uganda’s socio-economic development and reinforcing the country’s position as a hub for innovation and entrepreneurship.
On December 13, 2024, the CIU Rock Arena in Muyenga, Kampala, will host the #AGAD, bringing together alumni, leaders, and change-makers. For a modest contribution of UGx 100,000, alumni can attend the dinner and be part of this momentous occasion.
As CIU continues to shape the future of education and community development, the Alumni Gala Awards Dinner 2024 stands as a testament to the university’s unwavering commitment to excellence and positive impact.
