The rise of fake news has challenged reputable media houses into a race to ensure their audiences always receive accurate, well researched information fast. This has never been more crucial during an election period such as Uganda faces in 2021. NBS TV’s Elections 360 is Next Media Services answer to this challenge.
Launched on Wednesday, 16th September, Elections 360 is a show dedicated to in-depth analysis of one of the most important elections in Uganda’s history. The show helmed by award winning journalist Solomon Serwanjja and produced by seasoned news anchor and journalist, Mildred Tuhaise will feature interviews with news makers as Uganda heads into the 2021 general election.
Speaking from Next Media Park in Naguru, Serwanjja said that the show will be a chance to give Next Media Services viewers balanced and detailed information concerning their candidates, electoral events, and other activities, all in a bid to allow them to make informed decisions on polling day.
The Election 360 show, as per a press release by Next Media Services, NBS TV’s parent company, will run every Wednesday at 9:30pm.
Elections 360 demonstrates NBS TV’s continued dedication to serve the best interests of its viewers in a challenging year. NBS TV was the first media house to pivot and create programming meant to educate the public about the new menace of the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) in late February 2020.
NBS TV tapped investigative reporter and anchor Canary Mugume to lead the team to gather and disseminate information about COVID-19 in a daily news bulletin that aired three times a day: midday, 4:30pm and 8:30pm. Other media houses soon followed and daily updates on the progress of the pandemic in Uganda are now a must.
With Uganda’s elections five months away, the political command center has now launched Elections 360 to provide fast, accurate, trustworthy election reporting. NBS TV is ready to bring to you Uganda’s first scientific election that also promises to be one of the most exciting in many years.
