Lens vs Saint Etienne Stade Bollaert-Delelis, LensSaturday, 03-10-2020 @6pm
Lens have had a big impact on Ligue 1 only five games into the new season and they look a value bet to claim their fourth win of the campaign when they host St Etienne.
The newly promoted club have won three of their last four matches, beating reigning champions PSG, Lorient and Bordeaux as well as drawing 1-1 away to Nimes last time out.
The likes of Ignatius Ganago and Gael Kakuta have been dangerous in the final third for Lens and that could spell trouble for St Etienne, who lost 3-0 to Rennes last time out, having conceded another two goals in a draw with Nantes beforehand.
Lens have lost only one of their first five Ligue 1 matches this term. Both teams scored in 15 of St Etienne’s 28 league matches last season. St Etienne’s matches featured an average of 2.64 goals per game last campaign.
Nice vs Nantes Allianz Riveira, NiceSaturday, 03-10-2020 @10pm
Nice have suffered a major dip in form since opening their 2020-21 Ligue 1 campaign with successive wins and they may have to settle for a share of the spoils with Nantes.
Patrick Vieira’s men are winless in their previous four top-flight matches against Monaco, Montpellier, PSG and Bordeaux and, after losing the shot count 18-13 in their latest contest, they do not look assured enough to justify backing.
Nantes, too, have struggled for consistency in Ligue 1 this campaign and had a mixed bag of results last term, winning 11 but losing 13 league contests.
Three of the last six meetings between these teams in Ligue 1 have finished 1-1.Both teams scored in 22 of Nice’s 28 league games in 2019-20. Nice are winless in their last four Ligue 1 encounters. Both teams scored in seven of Nantes’s away fixtures in the league last season.
