Kampala, Uganda: Nambi Faridah, the National Resistance Movement (NRM) flag bearer for the Kawempe North by-election, has pledged to tackle the various challenges facing the constituency. The by-election, slated to take place 13th March, 2025, aims to fill the vacant seat left by the late Hon. Muhammad Ssegirinya, who passed away earlier this year.
While campaigning in Kanyanya Parish, Nambi Faridah acknowledged the difficulties faced by residents, including the lack of Seed Secondary Schools, garbage collection issues, water scarcity, sanitation issues, property and rental tax, and the persistent problem of bedbugs.
“I want to commit that as Nambi Faridah, I will work very hard in this term of few months to see that we tackle these issues,” she said, addressing a gathering of supporters and local leaders.
Nambi Faridah also addressed the issue of security, citing the recent incidents involving Ibrah Miracle, a Top TV journalist, and Hon. Nalukoola Elias. She expressed her regret over the incidents and hoped for harmonization to protect life, property, and rights.
“We pray and hope that we can harmonize these issues and continue to protect life and property, and all rights of everybody involved in this by-election,” she emphasized.
Despite the challenges, Nambi Faridah expressed optimism about her chances in the by-election, noting that the NRM has immense support in Kawempe North.
“I want to thank Kanyanya people for the love from all areas where we’ve gone to, areas like Lutunda, Kiyanja, and the leaders who have organized this for the spirit of togetherness,” she said in acknowledgement.
Nambi Faridah’s campaign has focused on engaging with local communities, listening to their concerns, and outlining her vision for addressing the constituency’s challenges.
As the campaign heats up with less than a week remaining, Nambi remains optimistic to be the one awaiting to be announced victor.
