Music legend Jose Chameleone has been rushed back to a hospital in the United States after experiencing health complications.
According his ‘bestie’ and caretaker Juliet Zawedde, Chameleone’s condition had improved over the past two weeks following specialized treatment at Allina Health Mercy Hospital in the States but he suddenly felt unwell again in the wee hours of Monday night and he was taken back to the hospital.
“My Bestie is not feeling well today, he has been taken to the hospital…. I pray for you my dear friend, Chameleone I know you’re currently unwell. May the Lord grant you a healing touch and restore your health and strength. Comfort you in your pain and give you the courage to face this challenge. May you know that you’re loved and supported during this time,” Juliet Zawedde posted across all her social media platforms.
Regarding his health challenges, Chameleone’s son, Marcus Abba, revealed in December last year—when the singer was admitted to Nakasero Hospital—that his father has been battling acute pancreatitis, reportedly linked to alcohol addiction. He also warned that if no intervention was made, his father might have less than two years to live.
Pancreatitis is a condition that causes inflammation of the pancreas.
On December 23, 2024, Chameleone was flown to the U.S. for further treatment after being discharged from Nakasero Hospital, where he had been admitted for over a week.
During his time in the U.S., the singer underwent treatment and was advised to take a three-month leave to rest and fully recover.
Recently, several videos of him have circulated on social media, showing significant improvement. In these clips, he was seen cooking, and in the most recent one, he appeared performing alongside a live band.
