Ugandan singer Joshua Baraka fell short at the Trace Awards 2025 edition to Kenyan singer Bien Aimesol in the Best Eastern Artist Award category.Bien beat seven East African artists to the gong including Diamond Platnumz, Marioo, Harmonize, Nandy, Zuchu, Joshua Baraka, and Rophnan.The awarding ceremony that brought together the continent’s most talented artists for a night of unforgettable performances and well-deserved accolades was held at Mora Resort in Zanzibar, Tanzania. The Trace Awards 2025 edition showcased the incredible talent and creativity that continues to shape the global music scene and highlighted the richness and diversity of Afro music, spanning genres such as Afrobeats, dancehall, hip-hop, Afropop, and more. Artists from over 30 countries within the continent competed in 24 categories and the best won in their respective categories.
