Traffic in Kampala Metropolitan area is to be interjected after security authorities directed motorists to liaise with a tentative program availed by the traffic police in order to avoid inconveniences as the head of state Gen. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni Tibuhaburwa is set to mark his 79th birthday celebrations.
The program seen by the publication shows that the grand celebrations are to be held at Kololo independence grounds starting from 10am up to evening. The organizers say president Museveni will be the guest of honor and will physically host his supporters to a luncheon that shall be followed with performances from musicians and artistes.
Motorists and road users who habitually use the Kololo upper terrace road have been advised to consider Acacia route as an alternative while those using Jinja Road have been asked to channel via industrial area.
President Museveni is said to be marking 79 years of age though his past interviews with the BBC in the 1990’s quoted him to have said he led the NRA guerilla war at 45 years of age. When one gets 45 and adds on the 37 years of his reign one gets 82 years of age contrary to the 79 he’s going to celebrate.
Apparently his physical presence is in contention after in his last night televised security briefing he confessed to have been battling a serious cold that has complicated his respiratory abilities.
