KCCA FC Hold Express FC at Wankulukuku

Kampala Capital City Football club has held Express FC to a 1:1 draw in the Star-Times Uganda Premier League at the Betway Mutesa II Memorial stadium Wankulukuku.
In a game that started at a low pace as both teams enjoyed playing from their half. However, before the end of half time in the added time, Erick Kambale put the hosts Express in the lead with a good finishing after a well-taken free-kick by striker Godfrey Lwesibawa.
A few minutes after the beginning of the second half in the 48th striker George Senkaaba missed a clear chance that would have doubled the Red Eagles lead.
Express FC continued to dominate the game and substitute Frank Kalanda also missed a good chance in the 78th minute after facing a KCCA FC keeper Charles Lukwago one on one however his shot went over the bar.
However, despite Express dominating almost the entire second half, KCCA FC equalized in the 86th minute through youngster Charles Lwanga aka Neymar.Â
Express Captain Enoch Walusimbi said that his team failed to convert several chances.
“We got so many chances but we failed to convert them and we slightly slept and they punished us however we are going to come back stronger”, Walusimbi said.
However, KCCA FC Captain Charles Lukwago believes that a draw is a fair result for his team.
“First of all, we haven’t played well but we have started making changes depending on the previous performances, a draw is not good but it’s a fair result because we had gone three games without winning, this was a local derby and a draw we have got we shall build from that”. Lukwago said.
