Police in Rukungiri district are investigating the murder of one Asiimwe Maria 60 years, resident of Musana cell, Kyaruyenje parish, Buhunga Sub County.It is alleged that Maria was murdered by her 20 year old son identified as Byampire Victor.Byampire returned home drunk on Monday night at about 11:00pm, and attacked his mother whom he happened to stay with, in the same house demanding that she produces money worth seventeen thousand shillings she had received from selling poles of their demolished latrine. The deceased declined to produce the money and promised to comply at a later date. The suspect charged and assaulted her severely using a stick and left her in critical condition. She died shortly after the incident at home. The case was reported to the area chairperson lc1 who in turn reported to Buhunga police and Cps Rukungiri responded, visited the scene of crime, postmortem done and the suspect who was on the run was arrested today morning (23/9/2020) from his hideout.
