The parties are allegedly marking Muhoozi’s 48th birthday though the actual reality is that they are a launch of his political ambitions as opined by ex Minister Dr. Miria Matembe.
“I have never heard Museveni celebrating his birthday nationally. Why should a young man celebrate his birthday nationally? This was the launch of Muhoozi’s Presidential bid,” Matembe said.
The epicenter of Muhoozi’s birthday fete is the Western part of Uganda where districts like Bushenyi, Rukungiri and Kabarole have seen RDCs directly mobilizing masses to attend. The project is well funded with a mass budget for musicians, comedians, bloggers and TV propagandists like Tamale Mirundi, Charles Rwomushana, Frank Gashumba and Andrew Mwenda.
“I will definitely take power one day,” Lt. Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba says contrary to the 2005 UPDF act that prohibits serving military officers from indulging in partisan politics.
Using his official Twitter handle, Muhoozi said as soon as his takes power, he will make sure he increases the sports budget to support the youths.
“I consider President Kaguta Museveni ,and President Paul Kagame the best strategists that ever lived! When Team MK wins power in this country, which we will! Our first act will be to increase the Sports budget,” he said in a tweet.
The first son also added that his enemies have for long been fighting him and his supporters abusing him every name they could find adding that this time, they can’t believe that he has taken over the country and vowed not to stop until he is in complete control.
He also added that his birthday celebrations of Team MK across Uganda will only cease only if he declares them over otherwise, all supporters should remain fully mobilized. He has since ordered all security forces especially police not to dare disturb MK supporters.
It should be noted that police has numerously quoted the 2013 Public Order Management Act to disperse gatherings and rallies of opposition political parties.
