Moses Nkonge Kibalama
The police spokesperson, Fred Enanga has revealed that the former leader of the National Unity Platform party (NUP), Moses Nkonge Kibalama is not under security detention as it had been reported in the media.
“We are giving Kibalama maximum protection from his residence in Buwama, but he does not want to see people anyhow,” Enanga told journalists at the Uganda Media Centre on Monday this week.
Enanga added that Kibalama changed his phone number last week after getting endless calls from many people, which he was not comfortable with that time.
“He is now contacting only those people whom he wishes to speak with at the moment. If he has not contacted you, just know that you are not among his essential people now,” he added.
Enanga’s statement comes amid growing concerns about the whereabouts and safety of Mr Kibalama following his disappearance last week.
The National Unity Platform (NUP) had recently asked High Court to have him summoned to explain his recent change of mid to demand the party back, having sold it to People Power in July.
