Oulanyah, Museveni honour journalist Odida

Deputy Speaker Jacob Oulanyah and President Museveni have mourned Mzee Francis Odida, a journalist, playwright and statesman.
Oulanyah, who represented Museveni, said the world would be a better place if late Odida’s selflessness, piety were emulated.
Oulanyah said vices such as envy, hate and unGodly practices like witchcraft, child sacrifice would be unheard of if values of love and empathy, which late Odida espoused, were universally followed.
Odida, 82, was laid to rest in Rackoko village, Awere Sub County, Pader over the weekend.
“Joined the Family of Odida and the people of Pader to honour the life of Rwot Francis Odida.”
“Odida taught me a great deal about hard work, dedication and commitment through his newspaper; The Sunday Review,” Oulanyah noted.
He was keen to see people go an extra step and would always provide a helping hand, a little push to support anyone’s dreams so that they reach their full potential.
“Acholi has lost a great man and I pray that we emulate his life, reflecting on our actions and what we are doing to impact the life of others.”
