Even while she was bedridden, Jajja Omulongo remained passionate about the struggle. She ordered her relatives to bring her president, Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine by her bedside. She encouraged the presidential hopeful not to relent from the cause. She even laid her hands on Bobi’s head as a good gesture of blessings ahead of the 2021 battle.

She endured the teargas and police brutality. A police officer was shamelessly captured on camera battering this elderly lady for wearing her beret. Friends and relatives say Jajja never put off her beret since Bobi announced his presidential bid. Even during Bobi’s final rallies, Jajja Omulongo braved through the crowds and made it to the stage to show her solidarity support for the young change yearning generation. Her resilience inspired other elderly people into believing in the People Power struggle.
It is with deep sorrow that we condole with the family of the bereaved. Too sad she has not lived to witness the fruits of her hustles. May her soul rest in perfect peace.
