Joint forces under the Commissioner of the sexual and gender based violence department at CID, child and family protection unit of police and ICT departments at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations are looking into the matter.
On June 10, 2022, students were filmed by an anonymous fellow through the windows on the right side of the bus coupled up while dancing erotically. The video shows female students boldly dancing atop their male counterparts, without caring about the outside world.
The school authorities at Lubiri SS have since confirmed in a latest statement that their students engaged in the vulgar acts following a statement from Midland High School distancing itself from the incident. Midland High stated that their school bus was hired to Lubiri SS at a fee of one million shillings.
Police Spokesperson Fred Enanga says police and other security operatives are investigating the incident before any course of action is taken. Enanga says police are yet to affirm how the school management at Lubiri SS let students act in a vulgar manner without supervision.
He says they are yet to establish who from the school administration accompanied the naughty learners on the wild trip.
“It is during the trip that some students were caught on camera getting naughty, including very appropriate sexual behaviors by male and female students who had paired up. Such incident practices and behaviors have a potential of impairing morals of other students promoting acts of gross indiscipline in schools and our society. Enanga explains
Enanga adds that they will establish whether the protocols of safety and security of students were followed during the trip.
“We are investigating who organized the field tour and the list of students who traveled, if some students were exploited by others on the bus, it is after all the above has been established that security forces will decide on next course of action.” he says
