Chemutai Aloysious, a Prison Warder attached to Kakiika Prison has shot dead his fiance, Wardress Adong Magodalena, 24, attached to Prison Academy and Training School Luzira.
Rwizi Regional Police Spokesperson Samson Kasasira has confirmed that the incident happened on Monday evening.
Kasasira said that the deceased had come to visit her man at the Kakiika prison.
According to the preliminary investigations, the two officers have been in a relationship and on Saturday 11th June, Adong paid a visit to Warder Chemutai Aloysious at Kakiika prison but on Monday, June 13th 2022 while on duty, Warder Chemutai shot and killed Adong at about 7:55 pm who still had come to visit him and immediately turned the gun to himself.
Kasasira told journalists that the Police visited the crime scene where they recovered the killer weapon SMG Rifle No. UG PRI 49001094-01247 with 24 rounds of ammunition and three cartilages of discharged bullets.
The bodies of the two deceased Prison officers were taken to Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital mortuary for postmortem examination as inquiries into the matter continue.
