Court has released State minister for Labour Mwesigwa Rukutana on Shs4m bail.
The former Deputy Attorney General is charged with attempted murder, malicious damage and theft of a gun.
He appeared in Ntungamo Chief Magistrates Court Tuesday where his lawyer Owen Mulangira applied for bail.
He was granted on a Shs4m cash bail while his sureties were bonded Shs50m non-cash each.
They included former minister Jim Muhwezi, Igara East MP Michael Mawanda and businessman Bob Kabonero.
He was ordered to deposit his passport and is not allowed to travel without court permission.
President Museveni ordered Minister Rukutana prosecuted and was even against the idea of giving him bail.
“They will be fully accountable with robust charges: assault, attempted murder, murder, etc,” he said in reference to those who stirred chaos during the NRM primaries.
