Latest news from Mbarara indicates that Police have confiscated all promotional attires and posters from the National Unity Platform officials. The seized materials was supposed to be used during the launch of the Party’s manifesto which is to take place a few hours from now in Kakyeka stadium.

NUP Kampala Central MP hopeful, Nyanzi Fred Ssentamu and Manjiya county MP Hon. John Baptist Nambeshe have led a team that has stormed Mbarara Police Station to see that they reclaim their promotional attire that they were supposed to use at their manifesto launch today.
Several NUP officials and supporters like Gaffa Mbwatekamwa are in police custody. Most of the detained were picked from local hotels and motels where they had spent the night. Reliable sources say police had instructed local hotel owners not to host strangers for the Friday night till the NUP manifesto launch is over. Those hotels which defied were raided on Friday night leaving several arrested. Local radio stations have also been instructed by the RDC to refrain from broadcasting Kyagulanyi’s event or else have their licences withdrawn.
