South Sudan: Kiir Appoints New Education Undersecretary.
President Salva Kiir has appointed Kacuol Mabil Piok as the new Undersecretary for South Sudan’s Ministry of General Education and Instruction.
The announcement was made on Thursday evening through a presidential decree broadcast on the state-owned South Sudan Broadcasting Corporation (SSBC).
Ms. Piok, a lecturer at the University of Juba’s Centre for Peace and Development Studies, fills the position left vacant after Kuyuk Abol Kuyuk was promoted to Minister of General Education and Instruction earlier this week.
Mr. Kuyuk replaced Awut Deng Acuil in the role.
The Ministry of General Education and Instruction oversees primary and secondary education, as well as the training of teachers, under South Sudan’s Transitional Government of National Unity.
