The Ministry of Health has on Thursday confirmed 185 new COVID-19 cases in Uganda bringing the cumulative total number of confirmed infections in the country to 7,064.
1 new Covid-19 death has been registered in Kisoro bringing the total number of deaths to 70.
“Results from COVID-19 tests done on 23rd September 2020; 185 new COVID-19 cases confirmed. The cumulative confirmed cases of Ugandans are now 7,064,” the Health Ministry announced.
The new cases include 184 contacts and alerts and 1 returnee.
These include 55 from Kampala, 23 from Omoro, 14 from Kapchorwa, 12 from Mukono, 10 from Apac, 7 from Gulu, 7 from Mbale, 7 from Sironko, 6 from Rakai, 4 from Arua, 5 from Butaleja, 4 from Jinja, 6 from Masaka, 4 from Terego, 3 from Oyam, 2 from Bundibugyo, 2 from Lira, 2 from Nwoya, 2 from Shema, 1 from Bushenyi, 1 from Ibanda, 1 from Isingiro, 1 from Kaberamaido, 1 from Kayunga, 1 from Kisoro, 1 from Tororo, 1 from Wakiso and 1 from Zombo.
The returnee who tested positive for COVID-19 arrived from India.
Currently, Uganda has a cumulative total of 7,064 COVID-19 confirmed cases, 3,226 recoveries and 70 fatalities.
