A reliable source privy to the US sanctions has revealed to this site that the Chief Justice Alfonse Owiny Dollo and the Electoral Commission boss, Simon Byabakama Mugyenyi are on top of the list that is yet to be published. Though not yet official, the list is said to be containing prominent names of officials in the military, Electoral Commission, police and cabinet ministers implicated to have had a hand in the blood bathed January 2021 general election.

In a statement issued last Friday by the US secretary of state Anthony Blinken, the Joe Biden administration held accountable a list of Uganda government implicated to have hampered the democratic process in the just concluded blood bathed polls.
Our efforts to reach the office of the Chief justice and the Electoral Commission turned fruitless as neither were willing to give a comment on the matter.
