Swangz Avenue singer Veronica Lugya, alias Vinka, says there is an urgent need to address the issue of unnecessary rivalry in the music industry. This rivalry has led to unnecessary competition, which is sometimes violent.She made the call as she gave her opinion on whether implementing the copyright management system would be the final solution to the challenges affecting the music industry.In her view, she noted that there are several issues to sort including unnecessary beef and violence that spark fights between artists and sometimes leave others injured.Copyright is not the only challenge affecting the music industry. It is beyond that, there is need to tackle unnecessary beef and violence in the business because people sometimes fight and injure one another unnecessarily.She applauded Eddy Kenzo and the Uganda National Musician’s Federation (UNMF) for working hard to get the bill on the floor of parliament and only awaits to see whether it will be implemented as it states noting that it will be a source of extra income to musicians.
