Cindy Sanyu, a renowned dancehall and vocal artist fired shots toward Fenon Records’ trio Warafiki Girls in a recent interview.
Appearing in a radio interview, Cindy Sanyu noted that if she were the manager of the trio, she would scrap and throw their recorded music in the dustbin.
She noted that she would put priority on changing the way the Warafiki Girls brand themselves.
She explained that they are too old-fashioned and their music appeals to the 2006-2008 audience.
Cindy cited examples of Ava Peace and Winnie Wa Mummy who she believes the Warafiki Girls can pick inspiration from regarding branding instead of copying the old Blu*3 style.
First, I would scrap their music and throw it in the bin. The way they have branded themselves, I throw that away as well.
If you dress like the Blu*3, you will appeal to the audience of 2008 and 2006. Young artists these days have a certain way they’re dressing. Look at Ava Peace and Winnie Wa Mummy.
