Speaking this morning at the NBS morning breeze show, Kibalama who appeared confused and frustrated made unrelated utterances that left the host, Simon Kaggwa Njala dismayed and perplexed.
Kibalama insists that he has been sidelined by the Bobi Wine group which he says ceased consulting from him the day he initiated the party transaction. “I mourn because I have been let down by the people I trusted. Within a week, I found myself sidelined in NUP and wondered, is this what I negotiated for?,” he says. “I was sidelined. What can I say? Kyagulanyi and I are not friends. We are related because I belong to the Ndiga clan. I am his uncle,” he adds.
Asked if he can freely campaign for Bobi Wine, Kibalama was affirmative to that effect but contravened himself when he said that he can do the same for president Museveni upon an invite. “Museveni is a genius to have ruled this country for all this time. Other people failed to do it. I’ve been here for all these years and I haven’t seen anyone lead like Museveni. I can freely join him if he invites me,” he said.
Kibalama also disputes that he is under captivity as widely believed by the public. “I am not in detention. I am at home. I just requested security officials to give me security because there was some insecurity. People jumped into my fence. They were holding two guns. That was a threat and I aired out,” Kibalama revealed on air. “The Kamwokya team didn’t help me. I decided to connect to Gen. David Muhoozi through friends, and I expressed fears of what was going on at my home. I saw the military deployed at my house within three days. They guard my home now,” he added.
