Speaking to journalists this morning, the party spokesperson, Joel Ssenyonyi says the lists are to be released effective today, September 28 and this is to be done at regional level. “The lists will be released from today till the week ends. We will start with central region, then East, North and finally the western region,” Joel says. “We urge all those that won’t appear on the lists to be calm and respect the party decision,” he added.
He however called on the disgruntled members who may miss out on the list to formally lodge in their complaints in form of appeals to the vetting committee. “We ask members to petition where they seek explanations. The NUP vetting committee will read through your petitions,” he says.
With Ugandans are already eagerly awaiting the list of the duly endorsed candidates for the MP slots, several key players in other parties are restlessly sweating in a quest to see the fronted faces likely to challenge them. The major point of debate is in Kampala where all the five divisions are very competitive. We await to see the verdict of the NUP Electoral management committee.
