Among the warned is the Kyadondo East legislator Kyagulanyi Ssentamu Robert who is contesting for presidency under the National Unity Platform party. According to credible sources in security, police has reached out to renowned goons across all major city slums to seek for their services for the entire two day exercise. Each of the contracted goons is to walk away with UGX 100,000 for the two day exercise and according to our intel, the money is to be cleared by today at midnight ahead of Monday.
Police had set aside over 700 million to oversee the exercise executed on time. In part of their assignments, the goons are to disperse crowds if any that would accompany opposition presidential candidates Kyagulanyi Ssentamu Robert of NUP and Eng. Patrick Amuriat Oboi of FDC.
The police has already announced drastic changes in how the two day exercise will ensue. They have asked all dwellers of Nakawa up to Banda to keep indoors for their own safety.
AIGP Edward Ochom the Director Operations says the force will rely on CCTV surveillance too. “For those political actors and groups that are still defiant and mobilizing Boda Boda riders and militias onto the streets; and ferrying supporters from upcountry into illegal processions and rallies; we are closely monitoring them. Therefore, any Presidential Aspirant who mobilizes boda bodas for a procession risks being arrested including those boda boda riders. We have plans to respond proportionately, in the face of violent crime, which may include the use of teargas to disperse these violent groups and arrest the culprits for prosecution,” he says.
