Outspoken head of Kibuli ‘Dduuwa prayers’, Sheikh Nuuhu Muzaata Batte has strongly cautioned the incumbent Gen. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni to cease his terror campaign on Bobi Wine and his supporters. Muzaata’s criticism comes barely days after a Bobi Wine supporter was beaten at the court premises by hordes of heavily armed policemen.

Speaking at a congregation in Buddu, Masaka district an embittered Muzaata lashed out at Museveni and urged him to be tolerant and rein in the bitterness of the men in uniform who have made it a hobby to unleash terror on Kyagulanyi’s supporters. “I want to warn Mr. Museveni and other politicians holding office. Stop torturing people you disagree with politically,” Muzaata sternly warned. “This is a free world that we shall all die and leave. We are not going with any earthly luxury. We will leave everything here on earth,” he added.
Sheikh Muzaata is celebrated for his outspokenness and bold character. He is known for his open mindedness as he speaks out things the way they are without any sugar courting. Recently when the state tourism minister, Ssuubi Kiwanda paid homage to Kibuli mosque, Muzaata declined to smile or even lay a finger on Museveni’s portrait during the photo moment of the visit.
Muzaata gained traction when he routinely condemned the then IGP Kale Kayihura who had neglected the Islamic fraternity and in most times he would even superintend the arrests and terror on the Muslims. He also lashed out at Museveni in 2019 when he blocked Bobi from performing on stage.
