Alien Skin vows never to perform in Busoga again – Sqoop

Ugandan musician Alien Skin has declared that he will no longer perform in the Busoga sub-region following a series of incidents in which he says he has been mistreated during visits to the area.

In a video circulating online, the singer is heard announcing that he has “banned” the region from his performance schedule, accusing some fans there of taunting and disrespecting him.

“Tell them the legendary has banned Busoga and he will no longer perform for them. I cannot perform in a region that wants to taunt me. They can continue watching those artists they have always followed,” Alien Skin says in the clip.

The remarks come after several confrontations involving the singer and his entourage in parts of the Busoga region, including Iganga.

One of the most serious incidents occurred in April 2025, when the artist was reportedly attacked during a visit to the area and sustained injuries that later required specialised treatment in Kenya.

Following the video, Alien Skin also posted a controversial message on the social media platform X in which he criticised people from the region.

“If you want to clean the city, you have to chase away the hawkers and peddlers; and if you want to clean the Ugandan music industry, you must chase the Basoga back to Busoga because you can’t differentiate between the ignorant ones and the smart ones,” he wrote.

The comments have since sparked debate online, with some fans defending the singer’s frustrations over past attacks while others criticised the remarks as offensive to people from the region.

Busoga is one of Uganda’s major cultural regions and home to millions of music fans who regularly host performances by local artists.
