I am not as rude and arrogant as people think — Winnie Nwagi explains her behaviour

Singer Winnie Nwagi has pushed back against the perception that she is rude and arrogant, saying she sometimes reacts harshly when faced with difficult situations.

Speaking on fellow singer Sheebah Karungi’s podcast, Let’s Talk, Nwagi said she has often been forced to respond firmly to people who bully or provoke her, both online and offline.

“I might be a public figure, but I am also as human as anyone else,” Nwagi said.

She said people often focus on her negative moments while overlooking the good things she does, which she believes has contributed to her reputation as a rude and violent person.

“I do a lot of good things, but people always tend to amplify the only bad thing I have done. This is why people paint me as a rude and violent person,” she said.

Nwagi explained that standing up for herself has been part of her personality since childhood, long before she became a public figure.

“Defending myself has been part of my life before I even became the Nwagi you know,” she said. “So I don’t get bothered by being judged for defending myself.”

The Swangz Avenue singer added that she treats people well when they show her the same respect.

“But I can’t go to everyone explaining myself that I am good,” she said.
