As relationships between musicians and social media personalities attract increasing attention in Uganda, media personality Evelyn Mic has urged TikTok creators to be cautious about the intentions of artistes who pursue them romantically.

Speaking on NRG Radio Uganda, Evelyn questioned whether some of these relationships are built on genuine affection or whether the popularity of content creators makes them attractive partners for musicians looking to expand their online reach.

She pointed to musician Kapeke and TikTok personality Priscy Black, whose public display of affection caught her attention. Evelyn said she had previously believed Kapeke was romantically involved with another social media personality, Mimi Kampala.

“I saw Kapeke kissing Priscy Black; she has a huge following on TikTok, but I always thought Kapeke was dating Mimi Kampala,” she said.

Evelyn cautioned content creators against getting carried away by the excitement and visibility that can come with dating a musician, warning that online popularity could become a factor in such relationships.

“I wouldn’t want these artists to use you for numbers. Be very careful,” she advised.

Her concerns come at a time when musicians and digital content creators increasingly share audiences across social media platforms. A relationship involving two popular personalities can generate viral moments, attract followers and keep both parties in the public conversation.

For musicians, such visibility can help draw attention to their music, while content creators may gain access to new audiences through their association with established artistes.

However, Evelyn’s warning raises a question about where genuine romance ends and the pursuit of online attention begins. She encouraged TikTokers to look beyond the glamour of celebrity relationships and consider whether they are being valued as partners rather than as a means of attracting attention.

While her comments do not establish the motives behind Kapeke and Priscy Black’s relationship, they highlight the growing scrutiny surrounding romance, celebrity and social media influence in Uganda’s entertainment industry.
