Jenna Ortega is ready for a break from television once “Wednesday” wraps up, saying she wants time to explore new opportunities after years of moving from one show to the next.

The actress discussed her plans on Josh Horowitz’s “Happy Sad Confused” podcast, explaining that television has been a major part of her life since childhood.

I think after Wednesday, I’ll probably be off the TV for a while.

Ortega said she spent years jumping between productions as a young performer and now wants to leave space for something different.

You know, I had many years doing that. I was bouncing from show to show as a kid, this to this, and I want to leave time for new things.

That does not mean Ortega is walking away from acting, however, as her comments point to a desire for a change of pace rather than retirement.

She also said she has not had many discussions about joining another franchise.

I actually haven’t had a lot of franchise conversations. I haven’t.

Ortega rose to global fame playing Wednesday Addams in Netflix’s hit series, while her film credits include “Scream” and “X.”

With more than one path open to her, the actress appears keen to avoid rushing into another television commitment as she considers what comes next.
