Ugandan singer Azawi, real name Priscilla Zawedde, has made a bold claim, saying no artiste in her generation can go hit for hit with her.
Speaking on Rewind, Azawi said her run since the 2020 lockdown period sets her apart, insisting no one has matched her consistency.
In this generation, I do not think there is any superstar that can stand head to head with me when it comes to hit songs. Starting from lockdown 2020 to date, I do not think there is anyone who can stand toe-to-toe with me.
She said her focus goes beyond chasing popular songs, as she continues to build a catalogue of solid, timeless hits.
That confidence extends to competition, as she openly challenged any artiste in her generation who believes they can match her record.
If we talk solid hits, I am talking about timeless music. If you are there and you feel you can challenge me, come. I do not think that artiste is there, and I am thankful for that grace because it is not an easy thing to do.
Even so, Azawi made it clear that consistency is not easy, adding that even artistes with a handful of hit songs deserve respect.

Netizens and fellow celebrities have aired their opinions regarding a forgettable incident in which singer Tracy Melon was involved on Sunday 29th March 2026 in Mbarara.
While performing her song Kakana at the Queens and Kings Cocktails Brunch at Shooters Bar, Mbarara, over the weekend, Tracy Melon was violently groped by a reveller in the crowd.
The ‘Nkwatako’ singer, visibly disturbed by the fan’s act, immediately retaliated by thumping him with a mic before angrily walking off the stage, ending her performance prematurely.
The incident has fetched divergent reactions online from netizens and celebrities, including rapper The Mith, who wants the reveller locked up with immediate effect.
Tracy Melon is not the first artist to face such uncouth behaviour after artists like Vinka, Winnie Nwagi, Karole Kasita, Spice Diana, and Chozen Blood, among others.
The Deputy Head of the RDC secretariat, Sr. Dr. Mary Grace Akiror has engaged the Kabarole District Local Government officials on effective service delivery.
During an engagement meeting with the district leaders today, Sr. Akiror who was accompanied by the Senior Presidential Advisor on Research, Dr. Dan Sekibobo, called upon the officials to remain committed to their respective placements and serve the vast community diligently. She noted that service delivery remains key towards National Development.
Sr. Akiror implored the leaders to sensitize the communities against the HIV/AIDS scourge.
The District Health Officer decried rising percentage in the HIV/AIDS scourge and told participants that aggressive sensitization is ongoing across various segments of people encompassing culture, business, religious communities etc.
Dr. Sekibobo took the participants through an interactive session on rooting for service delivery in the District. The participants looked at issues cutting across various sectors, the challenges and field strategies to address them. The participants collectively agreed that both the political and technical wings ought to work jointly through improved coordination in ensuring that service delivery gets to the common person.
The participants also pledged to work together as one team for the benefit of the common person at the grass root
The Resident District Commissioner- Kabarole, Sekabito Joseph thanked the team for the vast monitoring and noted that the security was calm in the area.
He pledged total commitment as Office of the RDC on the implementation of the Government programs and projects. He also thanked the participants for the team work and development.
Commissioner Sekabito encouraged leaders to work towards leaving a positive legacy in the community.
The District LCV Chairman,Dr. Rwabuhinga Richard welcomed the team and other participants, underscoring the positive implementation of the government projects and programs. He thanked the government for the funding on key priority areas under the UGiFT.
Dr. Rwabuhinga applauded the President for the launch of the Mountains of Moon University which is a key facility in the region on education development.
“We thank the Government of Uganda and the NRM for the fully functional road unit equipment and Shs 1billion which has greatly improved on the rural road network,” he noted.
On the Parish Development Model and the Emyooga, Dr. Rwabuhinga noted that the programs are faring on well and the district is hopeful that future will be bright.
Dr, Rwabuhinga requested for the construction of the Buhinga Stadium and an Industrial park, noting that these two facilities will greatly create jobs to the citizenry in the Tooro Sub region. He also highlighted the key road of Kijura and its cardinal importance towards the development of tea and other agricultural activities in the region.
The Chief Administrative Officer Kabarole District, Mr. Stephen Rubaihayo welcomed the team and applauded government for the support towards service delivery in the district.
He thanked President Museveni for the visionary leadership and the allocation of the funds towards the construction of the district headquarters in Busroro Town Council.
Kabarole District is one of the oldest in the country and various districts have been carved out of it including Bunyangabu, Kyenjojo, Kyegegwa, Kitagwenda and Kamwenge.
The District has a population of 287,000 and it is made up of only one county Burahya, with 9 sub counties and 6 town councils, 52 parishes and 347 villages. The staffing levels stands at 78%.

Ugandan singer Tracy Melon abruptly ended her performance in Mbarara after a fan reportedly touched her inappropriately, leaving her frustrated and visibly upset.
The drama unfolded as Tracy performed her second song of the evening. She had just completed her opening number and was warming up the crowd when the harassment occurred. Eyewitnesses say the singer immediately stopped performing, signaled to her team, and walked off the stage alongside her dancers and management, leaving fans stunned and confused.
Tracy’s reaction, while abrupt, drew empathy from many who understand the pressures artists face on stage. Performing live is not just about entertainment; it requires focus, professionalis|m, and trust that the audience will respect boundaries. Unfortunately, incidents like this have become an all-too-common reality in Uganda’s music scene.
Tracy’s experience is not unique. Leading female artists including Winnie Nwagi, Vinka”,and Sheebah Karungi, among others, have faced harassment during performances. Each artist has handled such situations differently — some continuing their shows despite disruptions, others walking off the stage to send a message about respect and personal safety.
Fans quickly took to social media to express outrage, condemning the fan’s behavior and offering support to Tracy while others said it is expected since she is an entertainer and shouldn’t have walked away. Many called for organizers and security teams to implement stricter measures to protect performers, stressing that such incidents should never be tolerated.
Solid waste mismanagement (SWM) is a growing environmental hazard that affects fast-growing cities in both developing and developed countries equally (The World Bank, 2025). Solid waste management disproportionately affects women, who are often the primary managers of household waste, yet face higher health risks and lower economic benefits in the informal recycling sector. Moreover, the amount of urban waste produced globally is growing faster than the rate of urbanization.
Studies indicate that globally, the waste generation rate has risen tenfold since the last century and is likely to double by 2050. Moreover, women are more supportive of the environment than men despite waste being an early problem of humankind, one that is increasing and of major concern to every nation in the world. In Southern Africa, solid waste generation has also escalated as a result of the burgeoning population, rapid urbanization rates, economic growth, and general improvement in living standards.
In Uganda, there is a general consensus in the literature that household solid waste generation is directly linked to an area’s socio-economic indicators (Pietro Castellani, et al., 2025). Therefore, Uganda’s growing cities and towns with positive socio-economic indicators should pay attention to household solid waste generation and management as a way of reducing waste-related environmental hazards. This is because, solid waste segregation and recycling (SWSR) are known to increase the recycling rate by 84% and substantially improve solid waste management.
However, it is becoming increasingly expensive for city authorities to manage solid waste in environmentally friendly ways that are protective of human health. Therefore, a lack of proper waste management systems results in rampant littering as tons of waste end up haphazardly disposed of, posing risks to human health and the environment (Pietro Castellani, et al., 2025). Waste is dumped on land in an uncontrolled manner, and in most cities, openly burning waste, illegal dumping, and sending large volumes of waste to landfill sites are common practices. Waste is dumped in the streets and in drains, contributing to flooding and the breeding of insects and rodents. Due to gendered roles, women experience greater exposure to toxins, respiratory issues, and physical harassment at disposal sites, necessitating gender-sensitive policies.
The concept of gender remains at the periphery of solid waste management and has not been fully incorporated into policy design. In that regard, a revision of such frameworks to ensure that gender specifics are detailed and guide local governments in mainstreaming gender in solid waste management is recommended. Similarly, city waste management policies should take cognizance of the waste variations related to residential settlements in addressing associated challenges. Lastly, enforcing waste separation at the household level could promote reuse and recycling, which in turn would reduce waste sent to landfill sites and reduce the negative environmental impacts posed by solid waste.
