He has already started making his case. The singer urged promoters and event organisers to book him for performances, saying he is ready to return to the stage.

Billy Kasodde has opened up about the end of his marriage, revealing that his wife left him while he was working abroad.
The classic local pop and Kadongo Kamu singer shared the personal setback during an interview on Sanyuka TV, explaining that he returned to Uganda as a single man after the relationship came to an end during his time overseas.
Rather than dwell on the heartbreak, Kasodde says he is focusing on rebuilding his life following his return home.
He is also in no rush to find another partner, explaining that settling back into life in Uganda takes priority after spending time abroad.
Kasodde’s revelation offers fans a glimpse into the personal challenges he faced away from the spotlight, even as he begins a new chapter back home.
“The love I have for my children could turn into hatred.”
That possibility alone is enough to convince Billy Kasodde that a DNA test is not worth taking.
The musician and media personality says he would rather continue loving the family he has than uncover a truth that could change everything.
I can do a DNA test, but it is not something I would want because the love I have for my children is genuine. If I did a DNA test and one of them turned out not to be mine, it would leave me in a very bad place, and the love I have for that child could turn into hatred.
His fears do not stop there.
Billy believes one DNA result could also destroy the bond between children who have always believed they were brothers and sisters.
If you decide to do a DNA test, you also risk creating division among children who have always believed they are siblings.
He also sees little comfort in a positive result.
Even if every child proved biologically his, Billy believes the decision to demand a DNA test could still leave lasting cracks in a marriage.
There is also the possibility of conducting a DNA test and finding that all the children are yours. Even then, it could create a rift between you and your wife because she may see it as a sign that you did not trust her.
For him, some answers simply cost too much.
The person who chooses to let things be is better off than the one who decides to go for a DNA test.

Ugandan heavyweight boxer Aziz Abdul is ready to make his Commonwealth Games debut, hoping to revive Uganda’s proud boxing tradition when he steps into the ring in Glasgow.
The 25-year-old, popularly known as “Ringo”, will face England’s Damar Thomas in the men’s super-heavyweight (+90kg) contest on Wednesday. A win would secure him a place in the semi-finals and guarantee Uganda at least a bronze medal.
Abdul heads into the tournament carrying the legacy of one of Uganda’s most famous individuals. He is the grandson of former Ugandan president Idi Amin, who dominated the country’s light-heavyweight division from 1951 to 1960 before beginning his political career.
Rather than distancing himself from the comparisons, Abdul says his grandfather’s achievements continue to motivate him.
“My grandfather’s achievements inspire me. I am a real warrior, I am the son of the sun,” he said.
His remarks mirror the bold personality of Idi Amin, who famously referred to himself as the “King of Scotland” in 1976 after developing a fascination with the country during his military service in the King’s African Rifles. Nation Media Group (NMG) has been cleared to resume its operations in Uganda following authorisation by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, bringing an end to a period of uncertainty for one of East Africa’s largest media organisations.
The announcement was made on Tuesday by Tanzania-based Taifa Group, the majority shareholder of Nation Media Group through its subsidiary, Taarifa Limited.
According to the statement, the decision represents a significant milestone not only for Uganda’s media industry but also for regional investment and East African integration.
Taifa Group Chairman Rostam Aziz expressed gratitude to President Museveni for approving the resumption of the company’s operations in Uganda. He also acknowledged the support of Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) Chief of Defence Forces, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, for his role during the engagement process that led to the decision.
“We are honoured by this decision and remain steadfast in our commitment to Uganda’s socio-economic development through responsible investment, long-term partnerships and sustainable value creation,” Aziz said.
He reaffirmed Taifa Group’s commitment to supporting Nation Media Group’s editorial mission, saying the company would continue promoting fair, balanced, independent and responsible journalism that informs the public and contributes positively to national development.
Aziz added that the outcome demonstrated the importance of dialogue, mutual respect and regional cooperation in resolving issues affecting cross-border investment.
“Taifa Group will continue investing in opportunities that create jobs, strengthen institutions and advance shared prosperity across East Africa,” he noted.
Nation Media Group Chairman Joe Muganda welcomed the development, describing it as an opportunity to reconnect with audiences, employees, business partners and communities across Uganda.
“Our immediate priority will be to restore our platforms responsibly, strengthen local content and provide Ugandans with credible, relevant and innovative journalism across print, broadcast and digital channels,” Muganda said.
He added that the media house would leverage its regional experience and presence in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Rwanda to strengthen public discourse, nurture local talent and contribute to the growth of Uganda’s media industry.
The company said the reopening of its Ugandan operations reflects the enduring relationship between Uganda and Tanzania, as well as the wider commitment among East African governments and the private sector to deepen regional integration, encourage cross-border investment and promote economic cooperation.
Taifa Group also reaffirmed its long-term commitment to partnering with governments, institutions, businesses and communities across the region to expand sustainable economic opportunities and support East Africa’s continued prosperity.
The announcement marks a new chapter for Nation Media Group in Uganda, with the company signalling its intention to rebuild its presence while reinforcing its role as a trusted source of news and information in the country and across the region.

Hundreds of Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) officers are celebrating after President Yoweri Museveni, the Commander-in-Chief, approved one of the military’s biggest promotion exercises in recent years, elevating hundreds of officers across the ranks in a move aimed at strengthening leadership and operational readiness within the force.
In a press release dated July 28, 2026, the Ministry of Defence and Veteran Affairs confirmed that President Museveni had promoted 301 General, Senior and Junior Officers, while 83 officers serving in acting capacities were confirmed in their substantive ranks. The President also confirmed the probationary ranks of 89 Second Lieutenants, who now officially become Lieutenants.
The announcement mirrors a confidential Joint Staff Headquarters signal that directed all military formations to immediately implement the promotions and update official personnel records.
Among the biggest beneficiaries are Brig. Gen. Godwin Karugaba, Brig. Gen. Chris Musinguzi Bagonza, Brig. Gen. Michael S. Nyarwa, Brig. Gen. Richard Karemire and Brig. Gen. David Robert Gonyi, all of whom have been promoted to the rank of Major General.
The President also confirmed Acting Major General Joseph Musoke Ssemwanga in his substantive rank of Major General, making him the senior-most officer whose acting appointment was regularised during the latest exercise.
Several Colonels also earned promotion to Brigadier General, including Rogers Kitwala, Mike Walaka Hyeroba, David Opeero, Ronald Nangamba, Dr. Ambrose Oiko, Samuel Rombe Achile, Stuart Ruteikara Agaba, Davis Ankunda Rwangoga, John Mango Baraza, Dothan Musoke Kavuma, Nelson Maguru Ahebwa, Humble Nicholas Nyesiga, Erias Byamukama and Collin Mbaga Nkwasiibwe.
The promotions further saw dozens of Lieutenant Colonels rise to Colonel, Majors promoted to Lieutenant Colonel, Captains elevated to Major and hundreds of Lieutenants earning the rank of Captain in one of the UPDF’s largest career advancement exercises.
The Ministry of Defence said the promotions and confirmations are intended to strengthen leadership across all levels of the force and ensure continuity in fulfilling the UPDF’s constitutional mandate of defending Uganda’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
“The Ministry of Defence and Veteran Affairs together with the Uganda People’s Defence Forces extend their congratulations to all the officers upon their elevation,” the statement signed by Col. Chris Magezi, Acting Director Defence Public Information, reads.
Military insiders say the promotions are expected to boost morale, improve command efficiency and prepare the force for emerging security challenges both within Uganda and in regional peace support operations.
The exercise also brought relief to 89 Second Lieutenants, whose probation has now been officially terminated, allowing them to assume substantive ranks as Lieutenants after successfully completing the required period of service.
According to the Joint Staff Headquarters signal, the promotions and confirmations were approved following recommendations from the Chief of Defence Forces and other military authorities before receiving the Commander-in-Chief’s final approval.
The latest shake-up comes as the UPDF intensifies efforts to professionalise the force and enhance operational effectiveness, with commanders describing the promotions as recognition of merit, discipline and dedicated service to the nation.

Victoria University’s vice chancellor, Dr. Lawrence Muganga’s Dual Citizenship Process Concludes as Focus Shifts to Educational Contributions.
KAMPALA — A formal administrative step has officially concluded the citizenship process for educator Dr. Lawrence Muganga, following the Rwandan government’s publication of his voluntary renunciation of Rwandan nationality.
According to an official notice published in the Rwandan Official Gazette (No. Special Bis of July 24, 2026), the Directorate General of Immigration and Emigration confirmed that Dr. Muganga—born in Mukono, Uganda, on February 14, 1976—has voluntarily completed the formal process to relinquish his Rwandan nationality.
The development highlights Dr. Muganga’s long-standing dedication to the Ugandan education sector. Speaking on his nationalization process, Internal Affairs Minister Gen. Kahinda Otafiire commended Dr. Muganga’s impactful work in the country, noting that his approval for Ugandan citizenship was rooted in his valuable service in educating Ugandan citizens.
“I helped him gain citizenship because he was teaching Ugandan citizens,” Gen. Otafiire stated, affirming the positive impact Dr. Muganga has made through his professional expertise and commitment to national development.
With the official documentation now completed across both jurisdictions, the resolution provides clarity on Dr. Muganga’s status as he continues his focus on advancing education and socio-economic growth in Uganda.
