American rapper Kodak Black has sparked fresh debate online after claiming he, Ye (formerly Kanye West) and Kendrick Lamar belong to a group he calls “KKK.”

The surprising remarks came during a recent livestream, where Kodak explained that the name has nothing to do with the white supremacist organization commonly associated with the initials.

Instead, he said the three artists share what he described as a common identity.

We Black Jews, we Israelites.

Kodak has publicly identified as a Hebrew Israelite for several years, and he suggested that the shared beliefs were the reason behind the name he gave the trio.

His comments quickly spread across social media, with many users expressing confusion over whether he was describing a real music collective, speaking symbolically or simply sharing a personal idea.

The name itself drew immediate attention because of its long-standing association with the Ku Klux Klan, a white supremacist hate group, even though Kodak appeared to use the initials in a completely different context.

As of now, neither Ye nor Kendrick Lamar has publicly acknowledged or confirmed the existence of any group by that name, and neither artist has responded to Kodak Black’s remarks.

His content ranges from humorous skits and lifestyle videos to social commentary, motivational reflections and trending discussions. By blending entertainment with relatable everyday experiences, Kreed_Icon has built a loyal audience that continues to grow across Uganda and beyond.

Digital media experts attribute the success of creators like Kreed_Icon to the growing demand for authentic storytelling. Research has shown that audiences are increasingly drawn to creators who present genuine personalities and relatable experiences rather than overly polished productions.

This shift has made authenticity one of the strongest drivers of audience engagement on platforms such as TikTok.

Beyond creating entertaining videos, Kreed_Icon has successfully transformed his online presence into a personal brand that attracts collaborations with businesses and organizations seeking to reach young audiences.

His consistency in producing content and regularly engaging followers through live sessions has strengthened his credibility within Uganda’s creator economy.

As Uganda’s digital landscape continues to evolve, young creators are proving that social media is no longer just a platform for entertainment but also a viable career and business opportunity.

Lutty Neika is taking a wait-and-see approach before joining any musicians’ body.

The singer says he has deliberately stayed away from signing up because he still wants a better understanding of how the organizations operate and what they offer artists.

During an appearance on Sanyuka TV, he explained that although he has friends in the Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF), he is not ready to become a member just yet.

I am not signed to any of the music federations, but I have friends in the federation [UNMF]. Maybe, with time, when someone explains to me very well how it works and everything.

Rather than rush into joining, Lutty Neika said he hopes to first speak to Martin Beta, the UNMF’s Head of Research and Development, so he can better understand how the federation works.

I think I will look for Martin Beta so he can explain everything to me.

His cautious approach mirrors that of fellow singer Liam Voice, who earlier this year admitted that he had also held off joining the federation because he wanted a better understanding of its objectives.

The federation has its objectives, and I also have my own plans. It is not that I do not believe in the federation, but I have not yet fully understood what it does.

UNMF, led by BET Award-winning singer Eddy Kenzo, serves as an umbrella body representing musicians and industry associations across Uganda.

For Lutty Neika and Liam Voice, however, understanding the federation comes before becoming members.

Long before his music started reaching audiences across Uganda, Lutty Neika faced another battle at home, convincing his parents that music was the right path for him.

The dancehall and Afro-pop artist, born Mwanje Hamza, says those conversations remain unfinished because his father still has not given him his blessing to pursue music.

While appearing on Sanyuka TV, he reflected on the challenges of convincing his parents to support his music career.

Given everything that is said about the music industry, it was difficult to convince my parents that music is what I wanted to do and what I am capable of doing. Even now, my father has never given me his blessing to pursue music. My mother is okay with my decision, and I pray that, with time, my father will also accept it.

Lutty Neika began his music career in 2017 and later found commercial success with “Game Over,” which emerged as his breakout single between 2019 and 2020 and introduced him to many Ugandan music lovers.

While his career continues to grow, he says earning his father’s approval remains one of his personal goals.

Parliament has completed the constitution of its committees and designated of Members of Parliament to various parliamentary and international bodies, laying the groundwork for the 12th Parliament to commence its legislative, oversight and representative functions.

The appointments and elections were made during the House sitting haired by Deputy Speaker Thomas Tayebwa on Tuesday, 07 July 2026.

Members were designated to standing and sectoral committees, four Backbench Commissioners were confirmed and Uganda’s representation to regional and international parliamentary organisations was also approved.

Key among the designations were, Hon.Patrick Oshabe Nsamba to head the Public Accounts Committee (Central Government), deputised by Hon. Sarah Lwansasula, while Hon. Fred Ruhindi will lead the Committee on Rules, Privileges and Discipline with Hon. Abdu Swaibu Kampanya as Deputy Chairperson.
Hon. Amos Kankunda will lead the Budget Committee and Hon. Jane Avur Pacuto will head the Committee on National Economy.

Other Standing Committee appointments saw Hon. Catherine Lamwaka to head the Equal Opportunities Committee, Hon. Francis Zaake taking charge of the Government Assurance and Implementation Committee, hon. Muwada Nkunyingi leading the Committee on Commissions, Statutory Authorities and State Enterprises (COSASE) and Hon. Betty Bakireke Nambooze heading the Public Accounts Committee (Local Government) among others.

Hon. Jennifer Mujungu is designated to lead the newly established Committee on Subsidiary Legislation, which will scrutinise statutory instruments and other delegated legislation.

Parliament also designated leadership for the Sectoral Committees responsible for overseeing government ministries and agencies.

Former Trade Minister, Hon. Amelia Kyambadde will chair the Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries Committee, hon. Boniface Okot will lead the Tourism, Trade and Industry Committee, Hon. Julius Rude Monday for the Health Committee, and Hon. Cuthbert Abigaba will lead the Education and Sports Committee alongside Hon. Emmanuel Ongierthor.

The House also elected four Backbench Commissioners who will serve on the Parliamentary Commission, the body responsible for the administration and strategic direction of Parliament.

Hon. Susan Jolly Abeja(Otuke District), , Hon. Faith Nakut (Napak District), Hon. Jessica Ababiku (Adjuamni District) and , the Hon. John Baptist Nambeshe (Manjiya County) constitute the four positions on the Parliamentary Commission.

The delegation to the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) will comprise of Hon. Emely Kugonza, Hon. Bernard Otim, Hon. Naome Kabasharira, Hon. Fortunate Rose Nantongo and Hon. Silas Aogon.

Hon. Muhamad Kibedi Nsegumire, Hon. Hassan Kirumira and Hon. Sharifah Taban Aate were designated to the Organisation of East African Cooperation, while Hon. Juliet Achayo, Hon. Nathan Byanyima, Hon. Norah Bigirwa, Hon. Elma Kapel Challa, Hon. Brenda Nabukenya and Hon. Evelyn Ninsiima will represent Uganda at the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU).

The House also designated Hon. Annet Nabirye, Ruth Rujooki, Sarah Kabarokole, Joan Namutawe and Shyam Jay Tanna to the African, Caribbean and Pacific/European Union Parliamentary Assembly.

Hon. Sylvia Nayebale will chair the Parliament Pension Board, deputised by Hon. Abubaker Kawalya, while Hon. Fredrick Angura will represent Parliament at the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD).

MPs Sarah Najjuma, Arinaitwe Rwakajara, Anthony Akol, David Kalwanga and Patience Nkunda are Uganda’s representatives to the Pan African Parliament.

Deputy Speaker Tayebwa urged the new commissioners to be vigilant and in touch with their colleagues so that their views are presented in the commission.
“We have agreed that we are going to strengthen the Commission to the way it should be in the law,” he said.

The constitution of committees and designation of parliamentary representatives marks a significant milestone in operationalising the 12th Parliament, with committees expected to immediately begin processing Bills, scrutinising government policies and expenditure, examining reports from ministries and agencies, and conducting oversight visits across the country.

The committee system is central to Parliament’s work, with much of the detailed scrutiny of legislation, public finance and government programmes undertaken before matters are reported back to the House for debate and decision.

In a move aimed at saving lives and boosting Uganda’s dwindling blood reserves, Housing Finance Bank has announced its fifth annual blood donation drive in partnership with Universal M. Enterprises Affordable Housing and Uganda Blood Transfusion Services.

The life-saving exercise will take place on Friday, 10 July 2026, at the bank’s Head Office in Kololo, starting at 8:00am.

The bank is calling upon customers, employees, partners and members of the general public to turn up in large numbers and donate blood to help save thousands of Ugandans whose lives depend on regular blood supplies.

According to the organisers, the campaign is intended to strengthen Uganda’s national blood stock, which is crucial for patients requiring emergency treatment, mothers experiencing complications during childbirth, accident victims, surgical patients, cancer sufferers and many others battling life-threatening conditions.

The blood collected during the exercise will be handled by the Uganda Blood Transfusion Services before being tested, processed and distributed to hospitals and health facilities across the country where it is urgently needed.

The annual initiative has become one of Housing Finance Bank’s flagship corporate social responsibility programmes, reflecting the bank’s commitment to giving back to communities beyond providing financial services.

By bringing together employees, customers, business partners and the public, the bank hopes to make this year’s drive one of its biggest yet, helping replenish blood stocks and ensuring hospitals have enough supplies to respond to emergencies.
