Those new directives by the Electoral Commission should be revisited and the president should ask them to allow some voters to witness proceedings at the polling station.
Because they are increasingly making directives without consulting anyone including NRM, the president should step in.
If we are transparent all sides will accept the results. But if we start what clearly looks like suspicious directives, our country might have problems.
All the messages of
peace running on radio and television stations will be a waste of time.
The president has tried his best to organize security for the day itself. But those security officers do not exceed 300k people.
If 17.8M voters think that the election is not free and fair, there is little those 300k officers can do. In fact they will remove their uniforms and join the voters.
Let some voters at least 60 be allowed around polling stations and let cameras be allowed.
Election is a one day event, an official or agents can take bribes and turn against even the president (and behind Byabakama’s back)!
