Leone Island superstar and Kampala mayor aspirant Joseph Mayanja, also known as Jose Chameleone, has been described as a NUP/People Power step child following his rejection in the party primary vetting.
Chameleone had hoped the party would nominate him as it’s flag bearer, but instead Latif Ssebagala is now widely expected to represent the baby party in the forthcoming elections.
And following his snub, his scorecard in the vetting process has been released
on social media to further humiliate the talented musician.
While Chameleone’s score of 51% seems decent enough, the details are rather not good reading. For example, in one section, Chameleone is dismissed on grounds of religion.According to NUP, Chameleone’s Catholic affiliation is not popular enough and doesn’t appeal to voters.
It must be noted Catholic is the dominant religion in Uganda. Infact even NUP principal himself (Bobi Wine) is a Catholic.
The singer’s education is also described as basic.
NUP also describes Chameleone as unpopular and needs Bobi’s intervention to stand any chance. On international exposure, Chameleone is only popular in East Africa, meaning beyond EA borders, he is a nobody.
