KAMPALA – A high-powered delegation from Kenya’s ruling party, the United Democratic Alliance (UDA), on Tuesday arrived in Uganda for a six-day official visit to the National Resistance Movement (NRM). The team was warmly received at Entebbe airport by Maj. Awich Pollar, the NRM’s Director of External Affairs.
Maj. Awich emphasized the importance of sharing experiences and best practices between the two ruling parties, highlighting their commitment to learning from each other. “As progressive parties, we share a common spirit, rooted in the East African Community and African values,” he explained.
During their visit, the UDA delegation will engage in various activities, including a meeting with President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, the NRM’s National Chairman. This encounter will provide an opportunity for the delegation to gain insight into the NRM’s history, ideological strength, and vision.
Notably, the UDA has been actively engaging with other global political parties. Recently, a delegation from the UDA visited China for talks with the Communist Party. The current visit to Uganda underscores the UDA’s commitment to fostering strong relationships with like-minded parties in the region.
The NRM and UDA share a common mission: transforming the lives of their citizens and promoting East Africa’s political federation. This visit is expected to strengthen ties between the two parties and pave the way for future collaborations.
