RWAMPARA – Mwizi Police, aided by a skilled canine unit, have successfully apprehended Nabawanuka Leticia in connection with the tragic murder of Nyakwezi Grace in Rwampara District.
Police say the investigation began on November 4, 2024, when local children stumbled upon a woman’s lifeless body in a banana plantation, prompting swift police action. “At the scene, officers discovered a pool of blood and signs of dragging, indicating a violent crime.”
“Thanks to the invaluable assistance of sniffer dog Hector, police tracked down the suspect to a locked house belonging to the deceased’s co-wife . Upon arrest, Leticia confessed to the crime, and further evidence was uncovered, including blood-stained clothing found within the house.” Police noted in a statement.
The police have stressed the crucial importance of preserving crime scenes to ensure effective investigations. This breakthrough in the case serves as a testament to the diligent work of the Mwizi Police and their canine unit.
