Barely a month later, Mueni Mwalimu’s body was found in another maize plantation not far from the first scene.
Mueni, who was a banker, had only taken leave days from her place of work to attend to a family emergency, little did she know it would be the last moments of her life.
After a search by her relatives, her body was discovered badly mutilated.
Autopsy report indicated that she was subjected to a painful experience before her death with her ear and thumbs chopped off while she was still alive. Her arms had been dislocated too.
Officers revealed that the scene where she was found was clean indicating that Mueni must have been murdered elsewhere and the body dumped there.
Exactly a day later, Vera Mugambi’s body was found at Baraka Estate in a nearby maize plantation.
Similarly, Vera’s body sustained a deep head injury with multiple stab wounds on her body.
It is alleged that Vera met her unfortunate demise a few meters from her home where she resides with her family.
Her family recounted that she had worked the whole day selling meals to casuals. In the evening when she went to collect payments, she was never seen alive again.
In what seems to be a femicide by a serial killer, all the bodies of the victims were mutilated.
A shadow of a man with a knife.
