Azimio La Umoja One Kenya presidential running mate, Martha Wangari Karua, met with TikTok comedian, Joe Nyokabi, on Friday, June 24, 2022, after his video went viral.
The two even took time to recreate the now-viral video where Nyokabi mimicks Karua while on her campaign trail.
Nyokabi recreated how Karua greets the crowds and how she pronounces Azimio La Umoja as well as hallo when she engages with the crowd during her campaign rallies.
Activist Boniface Mwangi shared videos and pictures of Nyokabi meeting Karua, further stating that the comedian was struggling to make ends meet and after the meeting, his life had turned for the better.
Mwangi revealed that Nyokabi was struggling financially and he had outstanding rent arrears but the Azimio running mate meeting was a game-changer.
“As of this morning, Nyokabi Joe didn’t have a job and had rent arrears. He says he did the harooo TikTok video hoping to get 10 views but to his surprise, it went viral. He didn’t get any pay but his friends thought he had “made it!” Today, his life changed, thanks to Martha Karua,” Mwangi stated.
He noted that Azimio La Umoja is keen to tackle issues such as unemployment by instituting laws and funding that will enable young people to make a decent living out of their hard work.
“This morning incoming Deputy President of Kenya Martha Karua met with Nyokabi Joe who made the now famous haroooo video.
“The Azimio manifesto has an agenda to turn work experience into certification. University of work experience will be certified and you will get a certificate,” the vocal activist added.
Kenyans.co.ke understands that Karua was on the set to shoot a video to show her support for Kenyan women and youth.
Being a campaign season, Karua and Azimio presidential candidate, Raila Odinga, have been creating skits in a bid to connect with younger audiences.
A video released on Thursday, June 16, showed the duo, seated next to each other, receiving letters from a section of Kenyans who wrote over the issues they want to be addressed by the Azimio administration once elected.

Courtesy Raila then proceeds to read his letter and is interrupted by a supporter who states that there are more letters coming.
The duo proceeds to receive the letters as they read in silence before making a promise in the over one-minute video.
