Kenya has recorded 151 more Covid-19 positive cases in the last 24 hours as the country’s total caseload rises to 38,529.During the daily Covid-19 briefing at Afya House on Wednesday, September 30, Health CAS Rashid Aman announced that 2,927 samples had been tested over the period bringing the total number of samples tested so far to 547,946.Of the positive cases, all are Kenyans except six who are foreigners. 97 are male and 54 are female while the youngest case is a one-year-old child and the oldest is aged 82. Medics conducting random screening for Covid-19 symptoms at National Archives, Nairobi on Saturday, March 21, 2020File In the county distribution, Nairobi county leads with 32 cases followed by Nakuru (24), Kisumu (22), Garissa (14), Mombasa (10), Meru (8), Kajiado (8). Kisii county had six cases, Bomet (5), Kiambu (5), Siaya (3), Uasin Gishu (2), Kilifi (2), Marsabit (2), West Pokot (2), Murang’a (2). Kakamega, Nyamira, Bungoma and Kitui counties all recorded one case each.At the same time, 168 patients were discharged; 105 from home-based care programme and 63 from hospitals around the country bringing the total number of recoveries to 24,908.Regrettably, four patients succumbed to the disease bringing the total number of deaths to 711.CAS Aman also confirmed that the medical workers had called off their strike and would return to work.More to follow…
