Zelensky welcomed Ruto’s win and affirmed that Ukraine will continue to partner with Kenya in matters that affect the two countries.

“Congratulated him on his victory and thanked Kenya as a UNSC member for its support in international organizations. Ukraine will continue to be the guarantor of Africa’s food security.”
Kenya and Africa at large have been affected by the conflict between Russia and Ukraine since its beginning in February with the two among the leading exporters of wheat in the world.
The conflict between the two nations grounded the smooth transit of wheat and subsequently led to an increment in prices.
Ruto, during an interview with CNN’s Christian Amanpour on Wednesday, September 7 stated that he was willing to partner with other leaders in the world to resolve the conflict.
While admitting that the conflict between Russia and Ukraine led to a shortage of grains, he maintained that his government would not take sides in the row.
“I would encourage that instead of finger-pointing and blame game as to who is responsible for what, we should sort out collectively as the international community the conflict in Ukraine so that whether that conflict that is responsible for the shortage of grain, we put it behind us,” Ruto stated.
“I would be part of the leadership that will work with other partners in the international community for the resolution of the conflict in Ukraine,” he added.
